NUST Entrance Test Tips

How to Prepare for NET:-

For succeeding in NET , you will need a combination of courage , patience and belief plus hardwork and an active brain. Have a full-night sleep the day before test. Concentrate the most on Maths during preparation , because it has the most weight age(40%). For Maths , brush up your basic concepts , practice the concepts , learn shortcuts because there is no time for long methods , the questions, mostly, will not be in direct words, be creative because paper-setter will be , in most of cases , creative  . For Physics(30% weightage) , you need to read whole of the book thoroughly , remember the concepts and units , it will be sufficient. Numerical type questions will be rarely asked , so you just need the remember basic formulas. Reading whole of the both books is a compulsion. Give chemistry the third priority while preparation, because it has a low weightage(15%) and most syllabus. So if you have studied Chemistry thoroughly in fsc , just revise it once selectively , paying more attention to organic chemistry. If you have studied it selectively in fsc paying little attention(like me  ) then don't read the books , just prepare it from any entry test book by solving mcqs, it is enough. For English , you don't have time for learning huge vocabularies etc , so solve a few exercises , i repeat only a few , from any entry test book. Still most of the chances are that questions in paper will either be new for you or too simple that students with English-Medium background will easily attempt them. Its weightage is 10%. As for IQ/general knowledge section , your common sense and level of intelligence will be tested , so it needs no preparation. Its weightage is 5%. A few advices , 1-Some times paper is so designed that opening question will give you a tough time , to break your temperament and self-confidence. DO NOT get dishearted , it will be followed by easier questions Insha Allah. 2- Be confident , solve easier steps of Maths questions in brain and difficult steps on paper , it will save time. Also you can get extra rough sheets. Use your space. 3- Solve exercises on entry test books , it will give you an idea about types of questions that can be asked. 4-You need only (I mean it , only) 140-150 marks to get admission in any field along with moderate 1st year marks. So it is a good chance for students with low fsc marks. Also don't worry if you have to miss some questions in "a safe range". 5- Most important part:Trust in Allah and fulfill your obligations of religion. All you have and all you will attain is in His hands. Keep Him happy with you  In the end , I wish all the readers a brilliant success and a prosperous future.
