Ebola And Cure

Ebola

scientists in Canada have publicized an efficacious treatment of Ebola virus in monkeys! Why this
discovery is such awesome news, is what you’ll get to know in a few moments. Ebola hemorrhagic fever is a disease caused by infection with the Ebola virus, which is a filovirus belonging to the family of Filoviridae.

It is one of the most lethal and little-understood diseases in the world. There is no vaccine. No customary treatment. And the foundation of the virus remains unknown as well. However it is suspected that it’s transmitted from secretions or bodily fluids of infected animals like chimpanzees, and fruit bats etc. Such a discovery, that treated this virus, this disease in monkeys, may as well, carve paths to a vaccine for humans! Great news, right?
Which means, this virus which can kill a person in mere 14 days, can be sooner or later wiped off the face of this Earth. Sooner or later? No man, we made a drug already! Its called Brincidofovir. Though its an experimental drug, it will soon be in the markets!

What happens to people when they get this disease is quite very abrupt and to think it has turned into an epidemic in USA right now, is even more heart rending. So what happens is, for a week no signs occur. No symptoms. After one week, the person gets fever, headache, pain in the joints, sore throat and then he gets diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, and impaired functions of the liver and kidney. White blood cells are destroyed and liver enzymes are elevated. In some cases, there is external bleeding, and 25% to 90% of the cases, have not survived in the past.

How does it transmit from a person to another, is through fluids. All types of fluids. And what is more interesting, is that even if the person recovers, he/she can still deliver the virus through semen, or breast milk or any other fluids of the body for up to seven weeks! And, at burial ceremonies, getting in contact with the fluids of the dead person who was affected by Ebola, can also transmit it. And a lot of transmission has occurred in healthcare centers where proper hygienic conditions have not been practiced.
But now, since we have the cure, and we know how it transmits, we will not only prevent it, but also cure it! ;)
