NUST Entrance Test Tips

How to Prepare for NET:-

For succeeding in NET , you will need a combination of courage , patience and belief plus hardwork and an active brain. Have a full-night sleep the day before test. Concentrate the most on Maths during preparation , because it has the most weight age(40%). For Maths , brush up your basic concepts , practice the concepts , learn shortcuts because there is no time for long methods , the questions, mostly, will not be in direct words, be creative because paper-setter will be , in most of cases , creative  . For Physics(30% weightage) , you need to read whole of the book thoroughly , remember the concepts and units , it will be sufficient. Numerical type questions will be rarely asked , so you just need the remember basic formulas. Reading whole of the both books is a compulsion. Give chemistry the third priority while preparation, because it has a low weightage(15%) and most syllabus. So if you have studied Chemistry thoroughly in fsc , just revise it once selectively , paying more attention to organic chemistry. If you have studied it selectively in fsc paying little attention(like me  ) then don't read the books , just prepare it from any entry test book by solving mcqs, it is enough. For English , you don't have time for learning huge vocabularies etc , so solve a few exercises , i repeat only a few , from any entry test book. Still most of the chances are that questions in paper will either be new for you or too simple that students with English-Medium background will easily attempt them. Its weightage is 10%. As for IQ/general knowledge section , your common sense and level of intelligence will be tested , so it needs no preparation. Its weightage is 5%. A few advices , 1-Some times paper is so designed that opening question will give you a tough time , to break your temperament and self-confidence. DO NOT get dishearted , it will be followed by easier questions Insha Allah. 2- Be confident , solve easier steps of Maths questions in brain and difficult steps on paper , it will save time. Also you can get extra rough sheets. Use your space. 3- Solve exercises on entry test books , it will give you an idea about types of questions that can be asked. 4-You need only (I mean it , only) 140-150 marks to get admission in any field along with moderate 1st year marks. So it is a good chance for students with low fsc marks. Also don't worry if you have to miss some questions in "a safe range". 5- Most important part:Trust in Allah and fulfill your obligations of religion. All you have and all you will attain is in His hands. Keep Him happy with you  In the end , I wish all the readers a brilliant success and a prosperous future.

Success Factor Consultancy

Success Factor Consultancy

Students always wonder how to get admitted in foreign universities. They are unable to get reach to those top ranked universities. With high achievements, still they are unable to get admitted just because of poor consultancy or guidance. People should be awakened , if some better option is available.

Most of the universities in USA, UK or many other countries where students want to apply, Do not accept the application directly by the student. You need to have a consultancy agency or so called "Consultant" . When you see for a Consultant, you need someone trustworthy. Personally, I have gone through this all. And believe me , you cant apply on your own. You need a consultancy agency.

Actually When you apply for USA, your offer letter from the university is not the final thing to your Journey for USA. You need to have an appointment for embassy. Actually these Consultant's actual work comes here, when you go for embassy. They guide you during this process.

Personally, i would suggest you guys. If you want to apply for foreign universities. Do Visit "Success Factor" . They would better guide, will corporate with you in a better way. Rest is on people .

Existance of Life on Moon

Everyone is  curious to know about life in space , planets and Moon. Scientists have made many contributions till now on this. Its a psychological fact, that whatever is away from human , he would be attracted towards it more and more. Those stars, planets how  life would be there and what kind of environment would be there.?

American Space Insititue i.e NASA has recently claimed either Life is possible or nor. According to them , on the surface of moon the process of LAVA or ignition is been happening since years. To support their fact, they said that rocks made up of LAVA were seen on the surface of moon. An Interesting Said by a Scientist of NASA that after this research , we need to modify the syllabus that people use to study about existance of life on moon. Those rocks made up of LAVA can be seen mostly on the surface of moon due to which surface of sun is black . Though we can not see them from earth. Size of these Rocks is Approx 500 metres.

According to Research, there are almost 70 places on moon that came to existance by processing of LAVA. And this process is approx 3 billion years old. As per their research, they say that the surface of moon is Hot more than we can think.

So this ends up with the conclusion that life isnt possible on moon . Because of those black rocks, that came into existance because of LAVA.

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer hospital

Every day we are texting, wasting our time uploading pictures, updating statuses, tweeting.. and at those same moments, somewhere else people are fighting against this deadly disease. They don’t know if they are there to live the next few moments even. Cancer is killing them. Its such a vicious disease. It eats you up from the inside and you only know it when you’re more than halfway done already.
Life will be going perfectly, and then one day you start experiencing fever and a little pain in your legs and you go to the doctor you have tests done and you get to know you have leukemia. Cancer. Your life changes. From going to school every day and complaining about tones of homework, you’ll spend day and night in chemotherapy cycles and radiation. Your parents, your siblings are shattered to death. You go to a cancer hospital and you find countless, literally countless no. of people there, and you wonder how come you didn’t know. You start wishing you knew earlier. You have money. You can pay for the treatment. You’ll live. But what about those millions of people who can’t? Those little girls playing with handmade dolls, don’t they have dreams? Their dreams may not be as luxurious as going to Disneyland but they are little precious gems. What about the kids with toys, praying for their mom, just so she lives to take care of them? A woman crying for her husband to open his eyes for once, because she has no one else in this world… There are people literally pleading in sujood, pleading Allah, pleading the doctors to save their loved ones.
And you walk past them. You want to help them. They don’t have the money even for the tests. You will be saved, you will get the treatment, what about them? Your parents bring burgers from Mc Donald’s for you, in the hospital, and they don’t even get three proper meals a day.
Guys, this is the time we need to stand up together and help those cancer victims. They survive on our donations. Their treatments range from 5 lakh to 20 lakh. And a poor person cannot afford these. All the money we donate, little by little, is used to treat them free of cost as much as possible, if not totally free then at least 75%, and give them a new life, a new ray of hope. We have to together eradicate this disease. We cannot and will not let children cry out. They deserve happiness. We won’t let our brothers and sisters become hopeless, we will give them hopes to live and pursue their dreams, we will be the support of our mothers and fathers. They are not the mothers and fathers of those patients only but the mothers and fathers of the entire nation. We have a responsibility over them all, and we will help! (In’Shaa’Allah)

‘Today we fight. Tomorrow we fight. The day after, we fight. And if this disease plans on whipping us, it better bring a lunch, ‘cause its gonna have a long day doing it.’ –Jim Beaver

So, people, we are campaigning to help these cancer victims at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Center (SKMCH&RC), please promote this blog, let people know, and let us together bring this change.

Ebola And Cure

Ebola

scientists in Canada have publicized an efficacious treatment of Ebola virus in monkeys! Why this
discovery is such awesome news, is what you’ll get to know in a few moments. Ebola hemorrhagic fever is a disease caused by infection with the Ebola virus, which is a filovirus belonging to the family of Filoviridae.

It is one of the most lethal and little-understood diseases in the world. There is no vaccine. No customary treatment. And the foundation of the virus remains unknown as well. However it is suspected that it’s transmitted from secretions or bodily fluids of infected animals like chimpanzees, and fruit bats etc. Such a discovery, that treated this virus, this disease in monkeys, may as well, carve paths to a vaccine for humans! Great news, right?
Which means, this virus which can kill a person in mere 14 days, can be sooner or later wiped off the face of this Earth. Sooner or later? No man, we made a drug already! Its called Brincidofovir. Though its an experimental drug, it will soon be in the markets!

What happens to people when they get this disease is quite very abrupt and to think it has turned into an epidemic in USA right now, is even more heart rending. So what happens is, for a week no signs occur. No symptoms. After one week, the person gets fever, headache, pain in the joints, sore throat and then he gets diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, and impaired functions of the liver and kidney. White blood cells are destroyed and liver enzymes are elevated. In some cases, there is external bleeding, and 25% to 90% of the cases, have not survived in the past.

How does it transmit from a person to another, is through fluids. All types of fluids. And what is more interesting, is that even if the person recovers, he/she can still deliver the virus through semen, or breast milk or any other fluids of the body for up to seven weeks! And, at burial ceremonies, getting in contact with the fluids of the dead person who was affected by Ebola, can also transmit it. And a lot of transmission has occurred in healthcare centers where proper hygienic conditions have not been practiced.
But now, since we have the cure, and we know how it transmits, we will not only prevent it, but also cure it! ;)

Poverty - the only war worth fighting for?

At present, the question is, that in a third world nation, like Pakistan, whether the only war worth fighting is the war of poverty, or not? I keep listening to people, I keep listening to news, and I hear quite unchanged opinions. I hear people say, that the government should fight poverty. Poverty is the main problem of Pakistan, the main reason why we don’t develop, is because poverty pulls us back. I keep listening that the government has done this, or this to ‘help the flood victims.’ The government has given this much ‘blood money’ to someone’s family whose brother was killed in a terrorist attack. The government has given ‘funds’ for the rehabilitation of the affected.
THIS, they think, is the war against poverty, and the only war worth fighting is this war. Come on, can’t you see this is it! People are dying, we have to help them. Government is taking action, thank God. It’s a crucial time, we are fighting against poverty, we have to free our people from this.

WHAT? Wait, a minute.
STOP.
Think.
Think again.
You are living in a third world country. Why did the floods even come? Why did polio affect so many children? Why did terrorism loom? Why did people get killed?

The war on poverty is to be fought, but the war you are fighting is not the war against poverty. It has its significance, but its not the ‘only’ war we need to fight. Even more pathetic issues and dilemmas prevail in our society. There are even deadlier problems, of the community, of the nation, and those deadlier problems are all the ‘causes’ of this poverty that is prevalent. To name a few, there’s corruption, extortion, terrorism, mafia, smuggling, conspiracies, under invoicing, drugs, adultery, obscene practices, offensive acts, impersonation, rapes, murders...
Think, for a moment! Can you diminish poverty, when such practices prevail? Can you spread the ray of equality when dishonesty dominates? Can you stop the outcomes of a disease, without wiping out the causes? You can't...
Why didn’t we make dams to control, when we know floods come out every year, when monsoon rains fall. Why didn’t we supply enough polio vaccines to children, when we know children get affected every year. Now, India has warned Pakistan to not get Indian visas with bogus polio vaccination certificates. This is what we were waiting for? Why can’t we bring in loyal people, why can’t we make our institutions corruption-free? Why didn’t we fight terrorism? Its no use giving money to the ones who lost their loved ones. You can never pay the price of losing someone. You can not bring the millions of people back but can’t we stop that from happening again?
You all must be familiar of this Chinese proverb... Give man a fish and you feed him for a day, Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Or government, our people do not seem to fancy that. They are trying to fight a problem without pulling it from the roots, instead, they're trying to cut its branches. It will grow again. How many times will you cut it, and keep watering the roots? It will grow again and again. All programs of war on poverty deal with former and not the latter. They deal with symptoms, not the disease. Distributing money in families, does not help in eradicating poverty. This money should be used to end joblessness, debts, loans, and ultimately poverty will deviate itself.

If we turn back the pages of history, you will see how Americans fought a war against poverty and poverty won. Poverty will win, if you do not fight its causes. For once, think, Pakistan possesses tons of problems, which push us in the pit of poverty. Our fight is not against poverty! Its against the causes of poverty that predominate even now.

Not Words, But Deeds

“Words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
People always say, “Not words, but deeds.” Don’t say, show it. We always hear people saying that actions speak louder than words. Almost everybody professes that deeds stand more significant as compared to words. I came across a debate the other day, with many people claiming that words don’t mean a thing, so I found it important to be highlighted that words have their own significance, that which even actions do not have.
Just think about it, our great poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, used the power of words to awaken a nation deep into sleep. Did he physically do anything? No. But he had a stronger weapon, the bludgeon of words. When all methods fail, words remain. Hitler used words to overcome an entire nation; through orders, through commands he killed 6,000,000 people! He lied, but did he physically punch anyone to achieve these goals? Did he physically do anything? No, he used words.
We can not deny that people are influenced daily through the supremacy of words. They cannot only make us THINK, but they can change the way we actually live our lives. Words can allow someone to take over our minds completely, while actions can only force us to do something out of fear.
We all are aware, that talk is absolutely necessary in a free society. No wonder, democracy itself emphasizes on freedom of speech and freedom of thought.
As I tend to live with the notion that the pen is mightier than the sword… I would like to know, that why would military dictatorships control speech? The answer is very simple. Its because they know that ideas can be infectious and lead people to take action. So I have to say, that words can spur others into action. The ability to talk the talk and walk the walk, may not be present in all, but therein lies the influence of words that can leave an impact which actions can not. People would claim that talking without action is pointless. But, to be honest, its the talk, the words, the ideas of great leaders that compel and motivate others to take that particular action.

When you have warring factions that are killing people, how do they come to an agreement to stop the killing? How do they terminate the reign of terror and walk towards peace? The answer is of course this, “they enter into talks!” At that time, even a small action  can spark the armies further towards oblivion and destruction. Words, treaties led to peace. We have lived these moments, who can know that better than us humans. We saw what happened in WW1. A small action, a murder of an Austrian prince, 1 bullet in his neck, changed the course of history. Had those hostilities been settled with words, we would never have seen the world wars occur, we could have prevented the devastation.

Since childhood we have been  hearing from our teachers, not to fight but settle our arguments by talking, by the use of  words, not action. Why? Because words have significance. So you see, talking is more powerful than action, because only once people can agree to disagree and find a happy medium, to end hostilities.

Here's another thought on this argument. As many people would also claim, people use words to make promises, and break them. The best quoted examples are of politicians. People hate them for not keeping to their words. In that regard, the issue is definitely NOT that the talk is cheap. It is NOT that words are insignificant. The issue is that they failed to act upon their oaths.

I certainly do not say that actions are worthless… but I reiterate on the fact that words compel us to take actions.  I do not say one should not prove his words through actions, but I restate that words have meaning. Actions are important, but so are words. They are not to be neglected. They are the swords of justice. The right of every man. The centre of communication. The freedom of heart and soul. When a word is spoken, its not just a word. An irreversible, irreplaceable vision is created.
At the end, I leave everyone, a question to ponder over. If deeds tend to be more noteworthy than words, if words are of no importance, then why do we try to convince people by our thoughts, voicing our opinion by a mere use of words, and NOT by action? It is simply a truth that we need to accept.
